First Night Nerves!

Phew! That’s all I can say.  As you can see from the opening image of this post, the exhibition private viewing last Thursday was a  success, with the venue packed to the rafters.

Which was a huge relief because just a few hours before  and a mere minutes before the time stated on the invite the scene looked something like this…

I have to admit being slightly concerned. I needn’t have worried though. Who, after all, wants to be the first to arrive at a party? Certainly not me! By 7.30pm it was standing room only with close to 200 people in attendance.

A good time seemed to be had by all (I think the excellent wine supplied by Bedales helped) and lots of nice people said lots of nice things about the images themselves making all the hard work well worth while (of course that could just have been the wine talking again!).

I’ve really enjoyed putting the exhibition together and  felt a tremendous sense of achievement looking around the room to see lots of happy, smiling faces enjoying themselves against the backdrop of my work.

I’ve posted a few more images of the evening to my facebook fan page if anyone’s interested. Click below for the link:

I’ve a  few ‘thank you’s’ to say, so I hope you’ll indulge me. Firstly to Kasia and her team at Bedales for looking after the everyone on the night and ensuring the evening was  such a huge success; also to Khara Sawyer for helping me hang the images (we haplessly put them up together in a random order before realising we’d got it right at the first attempt!); to Alex at Ink Express in Wolverhampton who made such a superb job of the canvases and my good friend Mark Davies for recommending them to me. You’re stars, one and all!

The exhibition now remains open for another three months if you would like to see it for yourself.

Bedales Wine Bar is located at 55  Leadenhall, EC3V 1LT, a few minutes walk from Monument tube station and is open from Monday to Thursday 10am to 10pm. Friday 10am to 4pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday

See here for a map (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=it&geocode=&q=EC3V+1LT&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwloc=addr).

Hope you can come along!

Next….back to to the business of taking pictures. Black Grouse fighting in falling snow anyone? Here’s a teaser…
